The New Year is rang in
And another one begins,
February storms have passed
Soon it will be spring at last.
March rains across plains sweep,
Nudging wildflowers from sleep.
Rugged mountains ice and snow
Seeps into creek and rivers flow.

The wild geese take flight North as
Nature brings a new season forth,
Soon robin redbreast will appear
Announcing to all spring is here.
Winters icy show ends with a bow
As farmers put fields to plow,
Soon plants will poke up their heads
As warm sun rises them from bed.

Sweaters and coats soon to be stored
As sun brings smiles to us so bored,
Shedding winter depressions with fervor
Only to be overcome by spring fever.
