Way out yonder
on the very ranch I own,
I sometimes ponder
while working to pay off the loan.

I ponder life and all its uses,
thinkin about some jobs being done half-way.
Saying to myself there are no excuses
for people being that way.

Then I realized my job some do despise,
they think that it is dirty, mud up to their thighs.
From fencing to irrigating its all the same to them,
calving and haying and riding in the sun.

So I think to myself...no this job isn't much fun,
all the work and the burning sun;
but being behind a desk, no way!
The ranch is where I will stay,
when it is all said and done.
