Our Great America
The strong, the brave, the beautiful have come together in unity. The
makeup of all American families has come from many many distant
countries to find refuge, to find freedom.
America is the "melting pot" of all these other nations.
The heritage that each has brought to and with their families is wide
and diverse, enriching us all with these differences. They all had a
dream and when added to the rest of our dreams, worked and built to make
this nation great. The challenges that each and everyone faced and
overcame made them sturdy, and helped to make America strong, and
united.
And our great, brave and courageous forefathers that were far sighted
enough to forge our Constitution, The Bill of Rights, and the Four
Freedoms that state that we have the freedom of speech, freedom of
worship, freedom from want and last but not least the freedom from
fear; all these are to ensure that every American citizen in our nation
has equal rights and freedoms.
And our symbols of Freedom that make us unique;
The majestic American bald eagle soaring freely over the country,
The Liberty Bell that was forged to be rung for freedom;
The Statue of Liberty that stands in New York's Harbor,
greeting all ships and strangers to our vast shores.
If she could talk, she'd say,
"give me your tired,
your poor,
your huddled masses yearning to be free."
There is room in America, for everyone.
As Theodore Roosevelt said, "We here in America, hold in our hands the
hope of the world."
I love this America where we can travel from one ocean to another; from
Canada down to and thru Mexico and not be fearful. I get a thrill when I
think of all that this country means to me. I love the parades where
peoples work together in unity to create beautiful floats, marching and
playing in bands, etc.
We are all like a patchwork quilt. Each of us like a small scrap of
material but when sewn, and fused, together we become a stronger part of
the grand final quilt of Freedom and Liberty.
Let us all remember that this country and all countries are created by
one Supreme Being
( GOD ), who loves us all, and wishes for us only good and peace.
